U.S. 30-year mortgage rate rises to 7.4%, highest since 2023

Freddie Mac data show the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate rose to 7.4% this week, up from 7.28% a week earlier and the highest since November 2023. The report also said rising rates are coinciding with more price cuts and weaker pending sales.
