California wine harvest seen sharply smaller this year
California winemakers are set for a much smaller grape harvest this year, with industry estimates pointing to a 35% to 40% lighter crop than average and as much as a half drop in output. The smaller crop may help ease the industry's glut and support prices, even as weak demand and low alcohol consumption continue to pressure sales.
