Trilogy Capital acquires Mountain Capital advisors

Trilogy Capital said it acquired Mountain Capital Investment Advisors, an independent registered investment adviser with over $1 billion in client assets. Trilogy said the deal is its largest of the year and adds its eleventh office and second Colorado location.

, Oct. 8, 2026 // -- Trilogy Capital, Inc. (Trilogy), a nationally recognized advisor-founded, -owned, and -led wealth management firm with operations in California, Colorado, Arizona and Massachusetts, announced the acquisition of Mountain Capital Investment Advisors, LLC (Mountain Capital). Based in Westminster, Colorado, Mountain Capital has operated independently for the past 15 years as a standalone SEC Registered Investment Advisor with over $1 billion in total client assets.

The addition of Mountain Capital represents Trilogy's largest deal of the year and its eleventh office location and second in Colorado. "Mountain Capital is a perfect fit for Trilogy and demonstrates our commitment to intelligent inorganic growth," said Jeff Motske, CFP(R), Co-Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer, Trilogy. "Mountain Capital shares our commitment to long-term client relationships, fiduciary advice, and thoughtful financial planning, so the cultural fit is exceptional.

" Founded in 2011 by US Marine Corps Veteran and former airline pilot Brandt Burns, Mountain Capital was built to guide advisory clients through the financial complexities of their lives, careers and retirements. Today, the firm has a diverse set of individual, family and small business clients, as well as a particular focus on working with aviation professionals. The firm's experienced financial professionals even include current and former pilots, airline leaders and other industry experts who deliver highly specialized financial guidance rooted in real-world experience.

"Partnering with Trilogy allows us to maintain our firm's personalized service and expertise, while enhancing additional offerings that matter most to our clients," said Brandt Burns, Founder and CEO, Mountain Capital. "We will retain our brand and unique position in the marketplace and our leadership team, advisors and staff will remain intact, so client disruption should be minimal. This important move for our firm will not replace what we've built.

" Mountain Capital currently offers tax preparation services as well as consulting services, which include highly specialized interview preparation for pilots and aviation professionals, a service pioneered by co-founder Michelle Burns, who herself was a Senior Manager at United Airlines for 14 years. These services will be combined with Trilogy's existing capabilities available through Trilogy Tax & Consulting, LLC an affiliated company that provides tax preparation and consulting services for Trilogy clients.

"As the wealth management industry grows more complex, remaining independent may no longer be the best option for achieving strategic growth plans and supporting client needs," said Jason Inglis, Chief Development Officer, Trilogy. " Trilogy was founded with the dual goals of helping financial advisors be better advisors for their clients and helping everyday Americans gain financial independence. Trilogy's vision is to create synergies and foster growth through advisor development and strategic acquisitions designed to build successful partnerships that drive enterprise value.

"Mountain Capital could have partnered with any number of firms over the years but chose Trilogy because we have the infrastructure and resources to provide deeper investment insight, advanced wealth planning, enhanced technology, greater operational support and ongoing advisor development, " added Motske. "In Mountain Capital, we found a partner that shares our values and long-term vision for the future.
