Duke Energy reaches North Carolina data-center cost agreement

Duke Energy said it reached an agreement with North Carolina Public Staff and other parties that would add customer protections around costs tied to data centers and other large-load customers in North Carolina. The settlement still needs approval from the North Carolina Utilities Commission, with a decision expected by mid-November.
