London court quashes five UK rate-rigging convictions
London’s Court of Appeal quashed the convictions of five former Barclays traders in the UK rate-rigging case, adding to appeals overturning parts of the Serious Fraud Office prosecutions.
Five former Barclays traders, jailed in Britain for plotting to rig global benchmark interest rates, won an appeal on Wednesday, clearing their names further and deepening the unravelling of some of the UK Serious Fraud Office's highest-profile prosecutions. London's Court of Appeal quashed the convictions.
