Fortuna Mining 3Q Output Down, FY Targets Remain

By Adriano Marchese Fortuna Mining's gold production fell in the third quarter due to headwinds at its operations in Cote d'Ivoire, but the company said it remains on track to meet its yearly targets. The miner, which operates three mines in West Africa and Latin America, reported production of 69,665 gold equivalent ounces in the period, down from 72,462 ounces a year earlier. The decline was primarily driven by operation headwinds at its flagship Seguela mine in Cote d'Ivoire. The company noted that there was a shortage of equipment in the quarter as well as a site blockage by local artisanal miners in the area. The disruptions reduced mining volumes and delayed access to higher-grade ore, it said. Fortuna maintains its annual production guidance of between 281,000 and 305,000 gold equivalent ounces for the year.
