Sweden Sept headline inflation 1.5% vs 1.5% forecast

Sweden's headline annual inflation rate was 1.5% in September, in line with forecasts and analysts' expectations, according to flash data from the statistics office.

5% year-on-year in September, a flash estimate released by the statistics office showed on Wednesday. "The preliminary inflation rate according to... the CPIF increased in September, mainly due to higher energy prices," Carl Holmberg at Statistics Sweden said in a statement. Headline inflation was in line with forecasts, but excluding the volatile energy component it was lower than analysts' and the Riksbank's expectations, according to a Reuters poll.
