MUMBAI, Oct 7 (Reuters) — STOCKS: The benchmark BSE Sensex was down 0.6% at 72,635, while the broader NSE Nifty 50 fell 0.71% to 22,612, ahead of an expected central bank rate hike as persistent inflationary pressures from war in the Middle East force rate-setters' hands globally..BO Rupee: The Indian rupee was up 0.06% versus the US dollar at 96.36, ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's policy decision, with the central bank's rate signal taking precedence over concerns about high oil prices. INR/ Government Bonds: The benchmark 10-year bond was quoted at 98.14 rupees, with the yield up 2 bps at 7.2106%, as rising US Treasury yields and oil prices weigh before a pivotal Reserve Bank of India policy decision that will mould expectations for liquidity, inflation and the rate path. IN/ Overnight Index Swaps: The one-year overnight index swap rate was flat at 6.2350%, while the five-year swap rate rose 1.5 basis points to 6.6850%.
