UK Stocks Extend Bounce
The FTSE 100 closed 0.4% higher at 10,542 on Tuesday, extending the rebound the three-month low of 10,428 on Thursday and tracking a strong session for global equities after a pause in the current bond rout. Fast-moving consumer goods were among the strongest sectors with Unilever and Coca Cola adding close to 2% each. Banks were also up as lower Gilt yields softened the pressure on the UK's credit outlook, with HSBC, Lloyds, and NatWest adding between 1.7% and 0.8%. Meanwhile, Informa gained 5.2% after agreeing to acquire Clarion for £2.24 billion and reviewing options for its Taylor & Francis publishing arm.
