SailPoint report: 79% of enterprises run AI agents, but only 2% have built-in security

SailPoint's Horizons of Identity Security report found 79% of enterprises run AI agents in production, with only 2% having deployed purpose-built identity security for AI agents, creating a 40-to-1 adoption-to-control gap. AI agents account for 22% of non-human accounts, and 85% of organizations still rely on legacy identity tools. Non-human identity maturity is low, with 54% of organizations at the lowest tier for agent identity controls.
