S&P 500 Nears Record Highs on Tech Strength
The S&P 500 is approaching its previous all-time closing high, driven by gains in the technology and energy sectors. Large-cap tech stocks like Nvidia, Apple, and Microsoft are significantly contributing to the index's advance.
The S&P 500 is back near record highs, supported by gains in tech stocks. Since the index’s last all-time closing high in mid-August, only two of its 11 sectors — tech and energy — have advanced. Even so, large-cap names such as Nvidia, Apple and Microsoft are big enough to lift the index higher on their own.
