Valero Texas City Refinery reports crude oil leak from flange

Valero's Texas City Refinery reported a leak from a flange on a crude oil transfer line, resulting in an estimated release of approximately 190 barrels of crude oil and associated emissions. Cleanup and remediation efforts have been initiated.

Oct. 5 (Reuters) - Valero's Texas City refinery reported emissions from complex 6 fugitive emissions F-33 after operations personnel discovered a leak from a flange on a crude oil transfer line during routine rounds. The refinery said the leak resulted in an estimated release of about 190 barrels of crude oil to the ground and associated emissions. Cleanup and remediation efforts were started promptly to help minimize environmental impact and associated emissions.
