Italy Jan-June budget deficit narrows y/y to 5.4% of GDP

Italy's public budget deficit narrowed in the first half of this year to 5.4% of gross domestic product (GDP), compared with 5.7% in the same period of 2025, official statistics agency ISTAT said. The narrowing reflected a 4.1% year-on-year growth in revenues and a 3.3% increase in spending.
