US Futures Higher Ahead of Jobs Report

US futures moved higher on Friday, with S&P 500 futures up 0.4%, Nasdaq 100 futures gaining 0.6%, and Dow Jones futures rising nearly 180 points. The gains came as oil prices fell, easing inflation concerns and pushing Treasury yields lower after their sharp rise earlier in the week. Investors are also awaiting the September jobs report for further clues on the health of the labor market and the outlook for Fed policy. Markets continue to price in another rate hike by the Fed this year, although the odds of a move at the October meeting stand at around 24%, with expectations shifting toward December. Shares of major companies were broadly higher in premarket trading, with Nvidia up 1.2%, Apple 0.1%, Alphabet 0.5%, Microsoft 1.0%, Amazon 0.6%, Broadcom 1.2%, Meta 0.4%, and Tesla 0.8%. Despite Friday’s gains, all three major US stock indexes are on track to end the week lower.
