EU discussing with US, IEA members timing for diesel release
The EU is discussing with all International Energy Agency (IEA) members, including the United States, on when to release diesel from reserves. EU Commissioner for energy Dan Jorgensen stated that this is one of the tools available and has been used before, with a likelihood of being used again.
EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen said on Friday that the bloc is discussing with all IEA members, not only the United States, on when it would be appropriate to release diesel. He said this is one of the options available, noted it has been used before and said it is likely to be used again.
