India Rice Export Prices Surge to Over One-Year High Amid Strong Demand and Supply Worries

Indian rice export prices have reached their highest level in over a year, primarily due to strong demand and concerns about production. Flooding in key rice-growing regions following a dry spell has exacerbated supply worries.

India’s rice export prices were at an over one-year high this week, supported by better demand and worries over output after flooding in rice-growing areas followed a dry spell. India’s 5% broken parboiled variety (RI-INBKN5-P1) was quoted at $378-$384 per ton this week, its highest level in over a year.
