National Fuel Gas Company has closed its acquisition of CenterPoint Energy's Ohio natural gas utility, which serves approximately 335,000 customers. The acquired utility will be renamed National Fuel Gas Distribution of Ohio. This transaction doubles NFG's utility rate base and increases its customer base to about 1.1 million.
