Spyre Therapeutics (SYRE.O) gains after Merck drug validates TL1A pathway

Spyre Therapeutics shares rose 6.08% to $89.87 after Merck & Co's experimental drug tulisokibart showed success in a skin disease trial, validating the TL1A drug class and supporting Spyre's candidates targeting the same pathway.

SYRE.OMRK.N

87 after Merck said its experimental drug tulisokibart significantly cut inflammatory skin lesions in patients with hidradenitis suppurativa, a chronic skin disease. Analysts said the data validate the TL1A drug class and back Spyre's experimental candidates aimed at the same pathway. Spyre is studying SPY072 plus bimekizumab, sold as Bimzelx, in HS patients, with proof-of-concept data expected in late 2027/early 2028. TD Cowen said the results are highly supportive of the rationale for the combination study and reinforce the potential for dual TL1A/IL-17 blockade to deliver differentiated efficacy in a complex, multi-pathway disease.

The brokerage also said the dataset may support an attractive opportunity as a standalone treatment, citing its roughly 10-fold greater potency and threefold longer half-life compared with tulisokibart. SYRE stock is up 175% YTD.
