Volkswagen opens revision talks with IG Metall, terminates some labor pacts

Volkswagen initiated revision talks with IG Metall, its largest union, to accelerate cost cuts and adapt to an industry downturn, after terminating several labor agreements effective end-2026. The future collective agreement's employment safeguards remain in place.
