Peoples Bancorp to acquire Capital Bancorp for $728M

Peoples Bancorp Inc. has agreed to acquire Capital Bancorp in an all-stock deal valued at approximately $728.1 million. Under the terms of the agreement, Capital Bancorp shareholders will receive 1.11 shares of Peoples Bancorp for each share they hold. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approvals.
