German and French spot power contracts rise on lower wind generation
German baseload spot contract rose 36.7% to €190/MWh; French spot up 32.8% to €194.50/MWh as wind output fell.
Sept 30 (Reuters) — Lower wind power generation pushed German and French spot contracts higher on Wednesday, while the German forward contract edged lower. 7% to €190 ($216) per megawatt hour (MWh) at 0814 GMT, LSEG data showed. "Temperatures remain exceptionally high across central western Europe, with anomalies of +5°C to +7°C above seasonal norms, supporting cooling demand," analysts at Engie's EnergyScan wrote, adding that going forward temperatures are expected to remain above normal. 1 GW.
