UAC says rising corn shipments could curb Ukraine wheat exports in October-November

KYIV, Sept 30 (Reuters) — Ukraine's wheat exports may decline in October and November as corn shipments rise amid constrained logistics, Ukrainian major farmers union UAC said on Tuesday. Problems may arise in October and November, when newly harvested corn is expected to enter the market in large volumes and a significant share of logistics capacity will be devoted to that crop, UAC's analytical department said in a report. It said about 950,000 metric tons of wheat had been exported from Ukraine so far in September while only about 600,000 were contracted for exports in October.
According to the union, 850,000 tons of corn have so far been contracted for export in October versus 282,000 tons exported so far in September. Ukrainian seaports, which previously handled 90% of the country's grain exports, have been effectively blocked since late July by Russian missile and drone attacks.
