EGA and Gulftainer sign deal to route up to 250,000 tonnes of aluminium in year one
Under the agreement, EGA will route up to 250,000 tonnes of aluminium from the UAE’s east coast in the first year, and up to 300,000 tonnes in the second year. Gulftainer will develop port capabilities to accommodate EGA’s requirements.
EGA and Gulftainer have signed an agreement to broaden aluminium exports from the UAE’s east coast, the company said on Sept 30. Under the deal, EGA will route up to 250 thousand tonnes of aluminium from the UAE’s east coast in the first year. Gulftainer will also further develop port capabilities to meet EGA’s requirements. In the second year, EGA will route up to 300 thousand tonnes.
Volumes could rise further in later years.
