Commonwealth Bank flags EVs at 25.8% of Australia new-car sales in H1 2026

Commonwealth Bank analysis said EVs were 25.8% of Australian new-car sales in H1 2026, up from 12.1%. EV sales totaled 157,957 units through June, including 103,716 battery EVs and 54,241 plug-in hybrids; Australia’s EV fleet rose from over 500,000 in March to about 612,000 by end-June.
