Sept. 30 (Reuters) — Russian air strikes killed a child and injured five people in Kyiv and the surrounding region early on Wednesday, officials said. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that fires broke out in Kyiv, affecting private houses as well as a store and a warehouse, and leaving two people injured. A Reuters witness heard explosions in the city.
Kyiv regional governor Tymur Tkachenko said on Telegram that a Russian missile and drone strike killed a child and injured three more people in the area, while also damaging infrastructure facilities, houses, warehouses and cars.
