EU cuts maize production forecast to 48.3 million metric tons, lowest since 2000
The European Commission cut its EU maize production forecast for this year to 48.3 million metric tons, down from 50.1 million projected in late August, citing summer drought. The import forecast was left unchanged at 25 million tons.
