UniCredit optimistic about outcome of talks with Germany on Commerzbank

MILAN, Sept 29 (Reuters) — UniCredit is optimistic about the outcome of talks with the German government over Commerzbank but it believes it is appropriate to refrain from any public comments while the discussions are ongoing, a spokesperson said. "We welcome the dialogue that is taking place with the government and continue to be optimistic about the outcome," the spokesperson said in response to a Reuters request. Given the nature of these discussions, we believe it is not our place to discuss such conversations externally while they are ongoing, and it would therefore be inappropriate to comment publicly on the details until they have been concluded and any outcomes finalised."
