The Metals Company appoints Exxon veteran Liam Mallon to board ahead of seabed mining push
The Metals Company said former ExxonMobil upstream chief Liam Mallon will join its board and chair its Sustainability and Innovation Committee as it advances commercial recovery of polymetallic nodules under a U.S. seabed mining framework.

Exxon along with peers Occidental Petroleum and Equinor are increasingly investing in lithium projects. Exxon is developing lithium production from brine resources in Arkansas to supply the electric vehicle battery market as part of its broader push into critical minerals. com;)
