Westlake Vinnolit to close Cologne PVC plant, production to stop in Q1 2027

Westlake Vinnolit plans to close its Cologne, Germany PVC plant to improve profitability amid weak European demand. Cologne capacity totals about 165,000 metric tons a year, with production to stop in Q1 2027. Pre-tax charges are expected at about $205 million, including $100 million cash and $105 million non-cash, with about $110 million booked in 2026.
