Cboe (CBOE.Z) climbs after extending S&P 500 options licensing deal through 2051

Cboe shares rose 6.7% to $270.15 after signing a 25-year extension of its exclusive S&P Dow Jones Indices licensing agreement, allowing exclusive offering of S&P 500 Index options through 2051.

15 after the exchange operator said it had extended its exclusive licensing agreement with S&P Dow Jones Indices by 25 years, allowing it to keep offering trading in S&P 500 Index options exclusively through 2051. The agreement had previously been due to expire in 2032. Cboe said it and S&P Dow Jones Indices may also work together beyond traditional index derivatives and could include new products such as tokenized options contracts. Analyst Ashish Sabadra of RBC Capital Markets said in a note that the agreement had been an overhang on the stock and that the 25-year extension was therefore a significant positive catalyst.
