Japan's Helical Fusion to begin tests at pilot reactor in 2027

Helical Fusion said preliminary power-on tests at its demonstration fusion reactor could begin in 2027, with completed-facility power-on tests around 2030 if first-stage tests succeed. CEO Takaya Taguchi said the company aims to build a commercial fusion power plant as early as the 2040s.
