Cepheid received FDA clearance for its Xpert Respiratory Panel multiplex PCR test for suspected respiratory tract infections. The test detects 13 pathogens from a single nasopharyngeal swab on existing GeneXpert systems, with U.S. shipments set to start in the coming weeks.
