Poland's government adopts 2027 budget, sees debt below constitutional limit
WARSAW, Sept 29 (Reuters) — The Polish government adopted its 2027 budget on Thursday, assuming economic growth will slow to 3% next year from an expected 3.6% this year, the finance minister said. The draft budget assumes inflation at 2.8%, compared with this year's forecast of 3.0% The finance minister said he does not expect the constitutional ceiling of public debt at 60% of GDP to be breached by 2030 The government's debt management strategy, also adopted on Tuesday, forecasts net public debt at 54.7% of GDP in 2027 Net public debt is expected to rise to 57.4% of GDP in 2028 and 58.1% in 2029 before easing to 57.3% in 2030, the minister said The government also adopted a range of tax proposals, including the introduction of a new 24% tax band for earnings between 130,000 to 150,00 zlotys The government has previously said the 2027 budget deficit would reach 282.6 billion zlotys, with the general government deficit projected at 7.1% of GDP ($1 = 3.8434 zlotys) (Reporting by Pawel Florkiewicz, Alan Charlish, Anna Wlodarczak-Semczuk.
