AdA gets UK regulator nod to launch Lloyd’s managing agency by Jan 1, 2027

AdA said UK regulators including the Prudential Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority, plus Lloyd’s of London, approved it to establish its own Lloyd’s managing agency, with the transition due to complete on January 1, 2027.

By Ashish Tiwari Sept 29 (The Insurer) — AdA has received regulatory approval to establish its own Lloyd's managing agency, with the transition set to complete on January 1, 2027, the company said in a LinkedIn post on September 24. The approval from the Prudential Regulation Authority, Financial Conduct Authority and Lloyd's of London marks the next stage in AdA's evolution, following its progression from an underwriting team to a special purpose arrangement and then to Syndicate 2024, the company said. AdA said the new managing agency would give it direct oversight and control of Syndicate 2024.

AdA is majority owned by its management and staff, with a minority stake held by Saudi Re. In November, it said it would enter aviation all-risk, airlines, general aviation and aerospace lines for the 2026 year of account.
