Hurricane Polo crosses the Gulf of California, threatens Sonora

The NHC said Polo was near 26.9N 111.7W with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and was expected to move inland over southern Sonora late this morning. It warned of life-threatening flooding, mudslides, storm surge and destructive waves.
