Tropical Storm Rachel expected to become a hurricane within a day

The storm was near 14.7N 104.3W, about 265 miles south-southwest of Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph. The NHC said Rachel is forecast to strengthen gradually and remain offshore of southwestern Mexico.
