SMFG to make SMBC Nikko indirect unit via share exchange creating SMBC Nikko Securities Holdings

Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group will reorganize SMBC Nikko under a new intermediate holding company in Japan from Oct. 1, 2026, via a statutory share exchange that makes SMBC Nikko a wholly owned unit of SMBC Nikko Securities Holdings.
