August 2026 global vehicle production was 233,388 units, down 12.6% year over year. Japan output fell to 30,196 (down 32.3%); production outside Japan fell to 203,192 (down 8.6%). North America rose to 147,761 (up 8.2%); Asia fell to 43,377 (down 43.6%). China dropped to 14,130 (down 71.7%). Japan domestic sales were 38,851 (down 5.7%) and Japan exports rose to 7,487 (up 2.5%).
