New Zealand sees smaller government deficit in 2026-27

New Zealand on Tuesday forecast a budget deficit of NZ$8.73 billion ($4.94 billion) for the fiscal year ending June 30 2027, smaller than the deficit of NZ$14.09 billion it had expected at the May Budget, as it opened its books ahead of the November 7 election.($1 = 1.7662 New Zealand dollars)
