Samsung commits $1 billion to Helix Digital Infrastructure for AI buildout
Samsung said its $1 billion commitment will provide additional long-duration capital to Helix Digital Infrastructure, which KKR formed to invest in AI-enabling infrastructure. The company said the new capital supports data centers, power, connectivity and related infrastructure for hyperscalers.
Helix Digital Infrastructure and KKR said Samsung has committed $1 billion to Helix through its long-duration capital fund to help meet rising infrastructure demand from hyperscalers. The commitment adds to more than $10 billion of capital already committed to the Helix strategy at launch by founding investors including KKR, the Kuwait Investment Authority, NVIDIA and Vistra. The new capital is intended to support Helix’s plans to invest in and deliver data centers, power, connectivity and related infrastructure for growing AI demand.
Helix CEO and Co-Founder Adam Selipsky said Samsung’s commitment is a vote of confidence in Helix’s strategy and expands the long-term capital base for AI infrastructure demand. Samsung said it expects its capabilities to benefit Helix and its customers, and said it looks forward to working with the company to speed deployment of next-generation digital infrastructure for hyperscalers around the world. Helix said it expects to explore opportunities to use Samsung’s capabilities in advanced technology, construction, energy storage and cooling to support the development and delivery of AI infrastructure at scale.
Helix said AI is driving a generational infrastructure buildout and creating unprecedented demand from hyperscalers for partners that can help address increasingly complex infrastructure needs at scale and speed. The company said it was created in response to that challenge with an integrated approach combining long-duration capital, infrastructure expertise and capabilities across the critical components needed to support AI growth. Helix said it will seek to invest in, deliver and manage AI-enabling infrastructure in North America and worldwide. Globally, KKR has invested over $75.
KKR said it has invested approximately $9 billion across its strategies in Korea and has been present in the country since 2009, building relationships and market knowledge across infrastructure, private equity, real estate and credit.
