US homeowners insurers H1 loss ratio lowest in five years: AM Best

AM Best said the US P&C industry's direct incurred loss ratio fell to 48.4% in the first half of the year, its lowest level in five years. The report also said the homeowners segment posted a $16.5 billion net underwriting gain in 2025 after a more than $1.3 billion loss a year earlier.
