TSX falls to nearly two-month low as gold slides, yields climb

S&P/TSX Composite Index ended down 0.9% at 35,489.86, its lowest close since July 31. Materials fell 3.7% and financials 0.7%; Canada's 10-year yield touched 4.017%, its highest since October 2023.
