Cravath private equity leader returns to Weil
By Sara Merken Sept 28 (Reuters) — Weil, Gotshal & Manges is bringing back two leading lawyers in private equity and restructuring who previously departed for rival law firms as it navigates a string of recent partner exits. Peter Feist is returning to Weil as US co-head of its private equity practice from Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he led the private equity group, Weil said on Saturday. Feist left Weil for Cravath in 2023. His clients have included Advent International, OMERS Private Equity and Providence Equity Partners, according to his Weil online biography. He was not immediately available for comment on Monday. Last week Weil said that Debra Sinclair, who was US co-chair of the strategic capital and restructuring department at Willkie, Farr & Gallagher, would be joining the firm in the coming weeks. Sinclair was previously an associate at Weil. Sinclair did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Weil said her recent work has included leading a team that advised Saks Global through its Chapter 11 restructuring. Weil has lost a handful of other partners in recent weeks. Cravath said earlier this month that it had hired leading New York dealmaker Michael.
