Citi CEO Fraser says agentic AI in banking needs strong controls, authentication

Sept 28 (Reuters) — Citi CEO Jane Fraser said on Monday that agentic AI in banking requires strong controls and authentication as banks prepare for AI agents to carry out tasks. Speaking at the Sibos conference, Fraser said Citi has built a control layer called Arc that all AI agents must pass through before they are created. She said Arc provides an "observability layer" that continuously tracks and monitors their activity.
