Iran's Araqchi says US must accept seven-day plan for Strait of Hormuz
Araqchi said Iran gave the United States a 'concrete' seven-day plan to reopen the strategic strait and restore normal maritime passage.
Sept 25 (Reuters) — Iran has presented the United States with a "concrete" seven-day plan to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz, and the decision now lies with the US, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi told reporters at the United Nations on Friday. "If the necessary conditions are met, the strait can be reopened, a normal maritime passage restored within seven days. The choice now rests with the United States," he said. Araqchi said the steps Washington should take are not new and are already set out in the MOU Iran and the United States agreed in June.
