Asia Distillates — Diesel markets give back gains; jet fuel firms slightly

SINGAPORE, Sept 24 (Reuters) — Asia's diesel markets gave back some of the previous session's gains, with timespreads and cash premiums easing back to levels seen two sessions earlier, while jet fuel cash premiums climbed to a one-week high. Some October discussions were still ongoing for Northeast Asian barrels, with talks at small premiums linked to free on board Singapore prices. Meanwhile, freight costs on the east-west route have surged, with some shipowners offering more than $9 million to sellers shipping 90,000 metric tons of refined fuels on the India-UK route. The east-west price spread, however, narrowed slightly back to discounts of $180-190 per metric ton. Refining margins closed the trading session at slightly more than $74 a barrel, hitting a two-session low. Cash differentials eased back to around $3.3 a barrel, against a backdrop of limited spot window discussions. For jet fuel, offers also emerged from China's exporters for October cargoes, with other Northeast Asian barrels being discussed at slight discounts. MDIS/TENDA Jet spot cash premiums inched up to a one-week high. Regrade narrowed slightly to hover at discounts of $3-4 a barrel. Singapore Cash Deals O/AS
