DIESEL: U.S. Diesel Ban Could See Gasoline-Price Blowback: Goldman Sachs

A U.S. ban on diesel exports would rapidly fill domestic shortage, depress the fuel's prices and ultimately shrink gasoline supply while pushing up costs at the pump, according to Goldman Sachs. * "All the things equal, lower diesel prices would incentivize refiners to reduce their production," Goldman's Daan Struyven said Sep. 23. * Goldman Sachs also added that because diesel and gasoline and produced together as a bundle with some flexibility, it would likely reduce the availability of gasoline. * Energy Secretary Chris Wright said that the Trump administration was working on efforts to increase diesel supply and that a diesel export ban could raise gasoline prices.
