PERU: Moody’s Affirms Baa1 Sovereign Rating, Fujimori Met with IDB’s Goldfajn

* Last night, Moody's affirmed Peru's sovereign credit rating at Baa1, with a stable outlook. In a statement, it said that the rating affirmation reflects their expectation that "improved political stability will support more effective policymaking and reduce the risk of government disruption, with positive effects on investment and growth through greater policy predictability". * As a reminder, Moody's also affirmed Petroperu's credit rating at Caa1 last week, while raising the outlook there to positive, from negative, due to the government's willingness to support the company through the recently completed $475mn bridge loan financing. * In other news, President Fujimori met with IDB President Goldfajn on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly yesterday, where they discussed the IDB's financial and technical support to the country. According to Andina, Finance Minister Cuba also attended the meeting, where he stressed the importance of continued support to address issues such as security, infrastructure and El Nio. * Meanwhile, Deputy Foreign Minister Eric Anderson led a working meeting with a bipartisan US congressional delegation yesterday to deepen the strategic partnership
