POWER: Spain Govt Moves to Allocate Up to 11GW Capacity for Renewables, Storage

Spain has launched consultations on allocating up to 11GW of reserved grid-access capacity at just-transition nodes for renewable and storage projects, the energy ministry said. * Capacity at 15 nodes would be awarded through a simplified first-come process, subject to socioeconomic and environmental commitments. * Guardo 220kV and Velilla 400kV will instead use a competitive tender after significant interest in pumped hydro projects. * The consultations run from 24 September to 8 October.
