CHINA PRESS: Dim Sum Bond Sales Hit Record High

Dim sum bonds have evolved from a niche financing instrument into a key channel for high-quality Chinese companies to raise low-cost offshore yuan funding and broaden their international investor base, Securities Daily reported. Issuers had sold 1,726 dim sum bonds worth a combined CNY1.45 trillion as of Sept. 22, surpassing the full-year 2025 total and setting an annual record, according to Wind data. The issuer base has diversified to include technology companies, centrally administered state-owned enterprises and local government-owned firms, the newspaper said. Dim sum bonds typically offer yields of 1.7%-2.2%, well below the 4.5%-5.5% yields on dollar-denominated bonds, giving issuers a substantial funding cost advantage.
